The fifth generation (5G) telecom service is likely to be launched in India by October this year and smartphone companies have already started planning to launch budget 5G phones. Chinese smartphone company Realme is gearing up to bring several new 5G smartphones at a budget price in the Indian market soon. The company is likely to introduce a new 5G smartphone priced in the range of Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 15,000 along with 3 new models ahead of India's roll-out of the 5G network.
Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth has unveiled the company's plans for new products in the second half of 2022 in an interaction with GSMArena. He shared that the brand will introduce four new products in the coming months and the highlight of the launch will be the sub-Rs.15,000 price bracket 5G smartphone.
He also shared about non-smartphone launches in H2 2022, saying that Realme will be entering up to three new categories under the consumer durables segment.
Meanwhile, the new 5G Realme smartphone is expected to arrive in the Realme 10 line-up. Sheth also shared that the chip shortage issue is getting solved and it will help the company to continue with the production of new and existing smartphones.
As reported by BGR.in, earlier the company was planning to introduce 5G compatibility on all the smartphones priced above Rs. 15,000. However, with 5G to be rolled out soon, the company will launch phones in the Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 15,000 segment. He had claimed that by early 2023, 5G smartphones are likely to be much more affordable.
Recently, Realme has launched its new Pad X tablet along with a new smartwatch Watch 3 and Realme earbuds Air 3 Neo.
