Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2’s fourth playable clan has been revealed and it is the Ventrue. The Ventrue are a clan that pick the wealth and influential for their ranks, making them the blue blooded group of vampires, and tyrants. If players align with the Ventrue they will find that they have higher resistance to physical attacks and mental coercion.
The description of the Ventrue reads, “Ventrue are blue blooded tyrants who incite obedience in both their allies and their foes. Using the Disciplines of Presence and Dominate, they can mesmerize as well as awe their prey. Feeding builds up Fortitude, allowing the Ventrue to soak up more damage in case any enemy is powerful enough to resist their force of will.”
The Ventrue are the final playable clan, joining the the previously revealed Brujah and Tremere clans, the Banu Haqim. It was back in September when Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 was re-revealed following years of delay and issues. The re-reveal confirmed that The Chinese Room had taken over development duties. The pitch and story for Bloodlines 2 has now shifted compared to the originally revealed version of the game. Still set in Seattle, there’s a three-way power struggle for power in the Vampire Court, and in an intriguing shift, Phyre is an Elder Vampire, which sounds like a gateway to unleashing plenty of fun vampire powers on hapless lesser beings.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is in development for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, expected to release in late 2024.
