Available on iOS and just released on Android, Chicky Pop is a casual mashup of two casual genres. It combines the ultra-addictive ball-matching gameplay of hits like Bust-A-Move with the ultra-addictive gameplay of Merge Dragons.

As its name suggests, Chicky Pop is a game about chicks. These chicks are pastel-colored, smiling, and almost perfectly spherical. They fill the screen in a blissful, chaotic heap, and it’s your job to keep this heap in some sort of order.
Chicks come in a variety of different colors and sizes, and when two matching chicks come into contact they merge into the next size up. Match enough chicks and you’ll create the ultimate life form: a chick with Easter Bunny ears.
Gameplay-wise, Chicky Pop sees you dropping chicks from the top of the screen. You slide your finger left and right to choose a spot, and lift it away from your device to let go.
However, there’s more to the game than simply making a pile of juvenile birds. You get bonus points for creating chain reactions, so it’s always a good idea to plan ahead rather than making the first match you see.
A little preview box lets you know what kind of chick you’ll be dropping next, allowing you to make tactical decisions about chick placement.
You also need to keep an eye on the depth of the chick pile you’re creating. If you overfill the screen with too many chicks by failing to merge enough of them, you’re toast.
