After a very long wait, Vampire Survivors is finally headed to Nintendo Switch.
Revealed during today's Nintendo Direct, Vampire Survivors will release August 17 and feature four-player couch co-op among other features. It will also benefit from a mutlitude of expansions released over the past year.
Vampire Survivors rocketed to stunning success after being released on PC, with it being particularly popular on Steam Deck. In this addictive roguelite, you try to defeat growing hordes of enemies as quickly as possible. It was subsequently released on mobile and is even getting an animated series, but a Switch release has remained elusive until now.
We wrote in our review, "With its dead-simple graphics and extremely basic map and enemy design, Vampire Survivors seems like it has no business being as addictive as it is. And yet, I felt compelled to put over a dozen hours into experimenting with its many weapon and ability upgrade combinations, starting round after round trying to reach the end and unlock all of its characters. The spell of its appeal wears off quickly once the persistent upgrades reduce the level of challenge, but if this is just the start of its early access run I look forward to seeing more difficulty options and secrets layered on top as it continues to develop."
The Vampire Survivors announcement was part of a Mario-heavy Nintendo Direct that also included a Super Mario RPG remake, Super Mario Wonder, and numerous other announcements. You can find the full list of everything announced at the Nintendo Direct here.
