Bithell Games, the British studio behind Thomas Was Alone and John Wick Hex, has announced a new game set in the Tron universe.
Disney Tron: Catalyst is a story-driven isometric action game coming to PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch via Devolver Digital’s Big Fan Games publishing label.
Set for release in 2025, it will continue the story of the Arq Grid, which was first introduced in Bithell’s “visual novel adventure” Tron: Identity.
“In Disney Tron: Catalyst, players are introduced to Exo, a highly resilient and resourceful program with an incredible ability to initiate time loops,” reads an official description of the game.
“With this newfound power, Exo takes on the overlords of a crumbling Grid all while evading Conn, a malevolent agent of CORE. Exo must gain control over her mysterious abilities and uncover the unexplained ‘Glitch’ that threatens the Grid.
“As Exo, players will battle on-foot and on Light Cycle to complete missions and gain crucial insights that will help them on their quest. While learning from her mistakes, Exo will also need to navigate warring factions to unlock new paths and uncover the secrets of the Arq Grid.”
Bithell previously announced it was working on more Tron games to coincide with Tron: Identity’s release in April 2023.
