This is something that we didn't really know about Trails into Reverie: it's actually got a wide range of optional content, ranging from challenging dungeon delves to minigames. Obviously the upcoming RPG's main draw is its story, which basically acts as an epilogue to the Trails of Cold Steel series, but Falcom's clearly put a lot of effort into making this a celebration of its massive series.
The suitably named True Reverie Corridor lets you assemble a team from over 50 playable characters in order to take on randomised dungeon layouts, complete with tough battles and worthy rewards. We're big fans of the Trails turn-based combat system, so this should be a great way to fully experiment with its mechanics.
And then there are the aforementioned minigames. Many of them seem delightfully daft, like riding a banana boat and splitting watermelons, but there are also more serious distractions, like in-universe quizzes and Vantage Master — the collectible card game that featured in Cold Steel III and IV. You can even take part in mech battles!
Trails into Reverie is still set to release on the 7th July, but will you be joining Class VII and the SSS on this all-star adventure? Build those bond levels in the comments section below.
