Some of the minds behind the fantastic SUPERHOT have formed a new studio, and the debut game from this team is about as far from that time-bending shooter as you can get. Toy Trains is its name, and it was recently announced for release on PSVR2.
This is a relaxing game about building train tracks and connecting up the community of little plastic people. You lift track pieces, vehicles, and other props from the catalogue and plonk it down in a pleasingly tactile way. It looks like a really sweet all-ages experience.
It's designed to be a very low-pressure experience, as outlined on the PS Blog. «We didn’t want the game to force the player to do anything,» says Marcin Jóźwik, a designer and programmer on Toy Trains. «Every challenge you face is open-ended and has various possible solutions. You always get to be creative and strategic about the map’s final outcome instead of simply solving a puzzle.»
Toy Trains is coming to PSVR2 on 16th January 2024. What do you think of this one? Tell us in the comments section below.
Having grown up alongside PlayStation, Stephen has developed an eclectic taste in video games and a wide knowledge of the medium, from small indie gems to the biggest AAA blockbusters. Ever hopeful that the Burnout series makes a miraculous return.
Family members trying to figure out what the hell to do with your train set after the player dies would make for some great end game DLC.
That looks really good. I like the idea that's it's chilled out. As much fun as a hard core version would be, sometimes just playing and picking stuff it is really good.
Looks blooming awesome.
Looks to have the feeling of Tracks — Toybox Edition on the Switch.
