Though some of the weapons in may be considered trash, they may not be as bad as they seem at face value. As the game has increased its player base, the weapons available to Helldivers have been placed into a community hierarchy. Though some guns may be marginally better than others, every weapon has its strengths and is viable for any mission. Currently, primary and secondary weapons in vary enough to feel different but not enough to overwhelm. Every weapon in shows its damage, magazine capacity, recoil, fire rate, and weapon traits. These traits usually include armor penetration, if the weapon can be used with one hand, and if it has any bullet properties, like incendiary ammo. This basic information gives Helldivers a brief overview of their weapon of choice but disregards the hidden stats.
Pilestedt says that weapon pages originally had a more extensive first page that showed off other stats like reload speed, fire rates, and muzzle velocity. This first page also showed a chart of how the gun's recoil would affect its impact points.
