Like the Nintendo DS, Wii U, and PS3 storefronts before it, the Xbox 360 marketplace is shutting down. You'll still be able to buy backwards compatible titles from the Xbox One and Series X/S, but any games that did not get this support and are only available on the 360 will require physical copies to play. Going by what happened after the PS3 store closed, that means prices are going to go up.
"On July 29, 2024, Xbox will stop supporting the ability to purchase new games, DLC, and other entertainment content from the Xbox 360 Store on the console and the Xbox 360 Marketplace," Microsoft said. "Related to this change, the Microsoft Movies & TV app will no longer function on Xbox 360, which means TV and movie content will no longer be viewable on your Xbox 360 after July 29, 2024."

If you have purchased any Xbox 360 games or DLC, they will still be available to play on the original console as well as the Xbox One and Series X/S so long as they are backwards compatible. Multiplayer will also continue to work "as long as the publisher still supports the online servers", while cloud saving will also remain intact.
As the store is closing in July 2024, you have just under a year to purchase any Xbox 360 games you want that are not available on newer hardware. If there are any favourites you want to play again or any gems you've yet to bite the bullet on buying, now's the time, because physical copies will inevitably increase in value as the market price will be dictated by scarcity. We saw this happen with DS, Wii U, and PS3 games once their stores closed, as the only way to buy their games now is to go through second-hand markets or collectors.
