No Way Home started rumors that Benedict Cumberbatch was secretly playing an evil or corrupt Doctor Strange in the film. In addition to an evil Doctor Strange appearing in Marvel's What If...?, the No Way Home trailers appeared to show Doctor Strange throwing caution to the wind.
