Doctor Strange 2 Synopsis Confirms Alternate Realities

A newly-released synopsis for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness confirms that the film will feature alternate realities. The film is directed by Sam Raimi and is the follow-up to 2016’s Doctor Strange. It is currently scheduled to debut in theaters on May 6, 2022.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will see Benedict Cumberbatch once again take center stage as Dr. Stephen Strange in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, following supporting roles in several recent films. In the sequel, he teams up with Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) on a journey through the multiverse, seemingly to fix the damage done by Strange himself. This will see him face off against numerous mystical creatures, Baron Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor), and even the evil Strange variant from Marvel's What If…?

Now, with only a few months until Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness debuts, some new plot details about the film have officially been confirmed. In fact, Disney has released a new synopsis for the movie which confirms a journey through numerous alternate realities. The newly-released synopsis reads:

In Marvel Studios’ “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” the MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before.
