Doctor Strange's catastrophic mistake in Spider-Man: No Way Home was recently defended by Benedict Cumberbatch himself. The MCU's main sorcerer joined Peter Parker's (Tom Holland) latest adventure in No Way Home. Luckily for him, Doctor Strange was eager to help him undo Quentin Beck's malicious revelation. The plan was to cast a spell that would make everyone forget about Peter's ties to Spider-Man, but it backfired after the tampered spell accidentally exposed Earth to multiversal threats.
