A new image may hint that Tobey Maguire's version of Spider-Man could appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Reprising his role in Spider-Man: No Way Home, the original live-action Spider-Man actor joined his successors, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland, to fight interdimensional villains. This established the possibility of him appearing again on the big screen as the wall-crawler given Marvel's multiverse, but exactly when Maguire's Spider-Man could next return to the MCU is still up in the air.
Principal production, as well as reshoots for the upcoming Benedict Cumberbatch-led Doctor Strange sequel, have been ongoing during the coronavirus pandemic. Doctor Strange 2 director Sam Raimi recently confirmed that even more reshoots are possible, but that test screenings for the project have started. Plot specifics remain tightly under wraps for the film, with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' first trailer barely revealing any narrative details. Still, between the re-appearance of Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch and further exploration of the multiverse, fans are understandably excited about the movie. Given the lack of official updates, rumors have been flying around about who might show up in the sequel, and the latest speculation claims that Maguire could make an appearance.
