Sykes has appeared in TV shows and films like Curb Your Enthusiasm and Bad Moms. Hall's acting credits include the Scary Movie franchise, Girls Trip, and Nine Perfect Strangers.

The three would be the first hosts of the Academy Awards since 2018, when Jimmy Kimmel hosted the show. Kevin Hart was set to host in 2019, until controversial tweets surfaced and he backed out of the gig. Since then, the show has been without a host. ABC announced that they planned to change that in 2022.
Since reinstating the hosting spot, everyone from Pete Davidson to the Only Murders in the Building trio of Selena Gomez, Martin Short, and Steve Martin have been rumored to be emceeing the show.The Oscars reportedly featuring three major comedians with well-known resumes would be a major way to bring back the tradition of featuring a host at the ceremony.
