Dakota Johnson Seems To Confirm Madame Web Casting For Spider-Man Spinoff
Dakota Johnson appears to have confirmed reports of her casting as one of the many Spider-Man characters who will be joining the ever-expanding universe established by Sony. Johnson was reported to be in talks to play the character Madame Web, who is also known as Cassandra Webb.
Madame Web is a character who has appeared in the Marvel Comics. She is usually a supporting character who assists Spider-Man and uses her psychic abilities to assist the web crawler in his fight against the many super villains that plague New York City. Web is often depicted as a mutant, so this implies that she has connection to the world of X-Men. For those who don't know, Madame Web is paralyzed, blind, psychic, and kept alive by a life support machine that is designed in the shape of a web.

Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless are going to be writing the project, with previous works that include Dracula Untold, The Last Witch Hunter, Gods of Egypt,Power Rangers, and Morbius. Their resume definitely has the darker gothic thematic films that would fit Madame Web very well.
Sony's Madame Web movie has a chance of becoming a part of the Disney's MCU world, but in the off chance it doesn't then there's a possibility that she may meet Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man.
