The Oscar nominations were announced on Tuesday morning, and needless to say, there were some unhappy reactions from around the world. One such reaction of Jimmy Kimmel has been circulating on social media. During the latest episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live on ABC, the host was seen expressing outrage over his favorite film of the year, Spider-Man: No Way Home, being snubbed by the 94th Academy Awards.
While going on a rant during the episode, Kimmel was seen questioning the Academy voters for not picking Spider-Man: No Way Home as a nominee in the Best Picture category. The video of the episode has since been posted on the show’s official YouTube channel, and is receiving a lot of support from fans of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

«The biggest snub today in my opinion, and I’m actually even angry about this, I’m kind of embarrassed to say, is the unforgivable omission of Spider-Man: No Way Home,” Kimmel is heard saying, followed by cheers from the crowd. Kimmel’s surprise at Spider-Man: No Way Home not getting one of the ten nominations for best picture quickly turns into a resentful monologue. “Forget that the movie made $750 millions dollars and is still going… there were three Spider-Men in it,” he jokes, and reminds the audience that one of them was Andrew Garfield, who did score a nomination for his performance in Netflix’s tick, tick… Boom!
Kimmel raises questions over why an Oscar nomination for Best Picture means that it has to be a “serious film.” He compares Spider-Man: No Way Home to one of the nominated films, Netflix's Don’t Look Up, and points out that even Rotten Tomatoes ranks the Marvel Studios film higher based on critics reviews.
