Tom Holland Felt More Pressure Making Uncharted Than Spider-Man
Now in his mid-twenties, Tom Holland says he felt more pressure making Uncharted now than taking on Peter Parker/Spider-Man when he was younger. Since joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2016, Holland has become one of the biggest stars on the planet. Following Spider-Man: No Way Home, which serves as the culmination of Jon Watts’ Homecoming trilogy, Holland will portray yet another iconic character in Ruben Fleischer’s (Venom) Uncharted.
Naughty Dog’s Uncharted video game franchise follows the wise-cracking Nathan Drake, a treasure hunter who embarks on perilous, albeit romantic adventures to find priceless artifacts ala Indiana Jones. The upcoming film will act as a spiritual prequel to the games and focus on the early days of Holland’s Nathan Drake alongside Mark Wahlberg as his mentor Victor “Sully” Sullivan. Uncharted will also star Sophia Taylor Ali as Chloe Frazer, Antonio Banderas, and Tati Gabrielle.

In an exclusive interview with Screen Rant, Holland spoke on approaching Uncharted in relation to preceding projects. The actor compared the pressure of preparing for Nathan Drake to that of Peter Parker and, of course, that 2017 episode of Lip Sync Battle. Read the full quote below:
“Lip Sync Battle was pretty stressful if I'm honest. Because no one really knew who I was back then and I was really worried that it gonna be like, «Who is this guy dancing in the rain with Zendaya? Like who is this person?» But I think preparing for Spider-Man, I was too young and naive to understand the pressure I was under, which I think was a really good thing.
