The name of Diablo 4‘s first expansion may have been discovered by a dataminer.
As reported by Wccftech, Blizzard recently uploaded a technical alpha build of the game’s version 2.0 for private testing.
This test version has been datamined, with the findings reported in detail by Russian YouTuber YbuBaKa.
According to the report, the first paid expansion for Diablo 4 will be called Lord of Hatred and will have a story based around the demon Mephisto, who is the older brother of Diablo and Bhaal.
It’s claimed that the expansion will be set in the Kurast region from Diablo II, and will have a new class called Spiritborn.
The expansion will apparently add a mercenary system with its own talent tree, and it may also see the arrival of Raids to the game.
The new data also apparently makes reference to the ability to craft corrupt runestones, but it’s noted that this may be related to the game’s upcoming Season 3 content rather than the expansion.
Trading in Diablo 4’s second seasonis currently suspended due to a newly-discovered exploit.
“We’ve suspended player trading in Diablo IV until further notice due to a duplication exploit,” community manager Rich Bantegui wrote on the game’s official forum earlier this week.
“We are working on a fix to amend this issue and will update you once we’ve reinstated the ability to trade. We will continue to monitor this activity to ensure a healthy playing experience for all.
“Any account that engages in gold and item duplication exploits will be actioned in accordance with our End User License Agreement.”
