Sony has revealed the minimum and recommended PC specs for the upcoming launch of The Last of Us Part 1 on the platform. The release date for The Last of Us Part 1 on PC was revealed late last year, and it's not long now until gamers get their hands on Naughty Dog's iconic title.
The Last of Us Part 1 was an enormous hit when it first launched in 2013, and was seen as an instant classic upon its release. It has seen a surge in popularity recently, with the success of HBO's The Last of Us TV show causing a huge spike in sales for The Last of Us Part 1. With Sony keeping the series locked into the PlayStation consoles until now, there will be an enormous amount of gamers out there yet to experience Joel and Ellie's story. If it's a success, it could also pave the way for The Last of Us Part 2 to potentially make its way to PC, too.

The PC specs for The Last of Us Part 1 were posted to the official PlayStation blog, and some of the results may surprise gamers. The standout is perhaps the RTX 4080 card required to play the game smoothly on ultra settings. Considering the initial release of the game came in 2013, the requirements are definitely higher than some might have expected at the top end. However, the game does seem to scale really well on the lower end. For example, the GTX 970 graphics card was first released in 2014, and the game appears to be playable with that card, so gamers don't necessarily need a monster of a machine to run it reasonably well.
