World of Warcraft and The Elder Scrolls III fans unite - a modder has released a Morrowind mod that aims to add Azeroth to the game.
Created by modder 'Tel Shadow', the 'World of Morrocraft' aims to introduce the most popular world of the Warcraft series to Bethesda's 2002 open-world action RPG. The mod is a work in progress, and at the moment of writing, the modder has created the iconic Northrend. Afterward, the modder plans to add the Eastern Kingdoms as well as Kalimdor. The mod features new landmass, quests, handcrafted exteriors and interiors, new NPCs, and creatures. The Northrend region consists of 10 large zones, including Sholazar Basin, Icecrown, Crystalsong Forest, Wintergrasp, Borean Tundra, Storm Peaks, Dragonblight, Grizzly Hills, Zul-Drak and Howling Ford. The last two zones are still in development.
"Sitting North of Morowind is the continent of Northrend, The icy continent of the world of Azeroth Northrend is the source of the evil undead Scourge, with the former seat of the malevolent Lich King, the Frozen Throne at the top of Icecrown Citadel", the mod's description reads. "The continent's mountains, tundras, and forests are rife with history, home to civilizations like the nerubians of Azjol-Nerub and the ice trolls of the Drakkari Empire, as well as ancient structures of the world-shaping titans and their servants."
According to 'Tel Shadow', the next update of this mod will add said zones to the project as well as custom weather, and side creators. This update will also finalize exteriors. It's an interesting project, and we're sure that World of Warcraft fans will appreciate this mod. We sure do, and can't help remembering the old days spent in Nortrend in Wrath of the Lich King.
