The cleric is one of the most underrated classes in . Though often sidelined as a healer, clerics can access some of the game's most useful and powerful damage-dealing spells. They are also one of the most customizable classes, the only class in the base game allowing you to choose a specific deity to worship.
There are 20 deities in that clerics can worship. They all have unique ties to the world of Faerûn and will grant unique interactions. For example, you can pray to any deity at the Stormshore Tabernacle in Act 3. However, some choices will unlock more content than others and are arguably better.

Lolth's daughter, Eilistraee, is also an option for clerics to follow, but unlike her mother, she can be worshiped by a character of any race.
