A new piece of fan art imagines what Mark Strong could look like as Mr. Freeze in Matt Reeves’ The Batman 2. Ben Affleck was originally slated to appear as the DC Extended Universe’s Bruce Wayne in The Batman but left the project in 2019 before Robert Pattinson was cast in Warner Bros./DC Films’ reboot. Now, after a plethora of delays, The Batman is proving to be one of the highest-grossing films of the pandemic era.
In addition to Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne/Batman, the film stars Zoë Kravitz's Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Colin Farrell’s Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin, Jeffrey Wright’s Lieutenant James Gordon, Andy Serkis’ Alfred Pennyworth, John Turturro’s Carmine Falcone, and Paul Dano’s Edward Nashton/Riddler. Inspired by comics like Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli’s Batman: Year One, The Batman follows the Caped Crusader during his second year as a crime fighter as he investigates killings done by a serial killer, Riddler, targeting Gotham’s elites.
