The Afterparty, the new television offering from directing and producing duo Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, just reached the end of its first season with an ending that carried on the engaging feel of the rest of the show. In a timely manner, now it seems the show will continue past this point with at least one returning cast member. But how things will continue from here still has yet to be seen.
Apple TV Plus has announced that its original comedy/murder mystery series The Afterparty will officially receive a second season, likely relieving some tension among viewers hoping to see more. Luckily, for those who immediately fell in love with Tiffany Haddish's Detective Danner, she's the first (and possibly only) star to be confirmed as part of season 2. Since some people still haven't seen the season finale just yet, there will be no spoilers. But it will still be interesting to see where things go from here.

The Afterparty was created and directed by Miller, who co-wrote Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and co-produced the award-worthy The Mitchells vs. the Machines. He took charge this time around while still working together with his long-time filmmaking partner Lord as producers. The series sees Haddish as Detective Danner investigating the mysterious death of celebrity Xavier (Dave Franco) during a high school reunion afterparty at his swanky beachside home. As every partygoer is questioned individually, they tell their version of the evening's events, with each story taking the form of a different genre.
