Stunning Gold Shadow Special Edition Xbox Controller Is Up For Pre-Order
Gold skins and cosmetics are usually reserved for when you reach the highest rank or complete a battle pass in a game. They're usually a sign that you've put in the work and earned a shiny trophy to show everyone. While you may not have to put in the same amount of grind in a game to get it, the newly announced Gold Shadow Special Edition Xbox Controller is definitely something you'd want to show off.
The Gold Shadow Special Edition Xbox Controller is currently available to pre-order for $69.99 at Xbox.com, the Microsoft Store, or your local retailer. It is compatible with Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Windows 10/11, Android, and iOS.

Instead of going for a straight gold finish, the designers of this controller decided to go for a gradient that fades to black at the bottom end of the controller. While gold usually makes things look a bit gaudy, this finish makes the Xbox controller look sharp. This is further complemented by the black face buttons and thumbsticks, and metallic gold finish on the d-pad.
However, it's not just the colour that's different in this edition. It also features rubberized black diamond patterned grips on the side to make holding the controller more comfortable. The shoulder buttons and triggers also come with a dotted texture, so as to ensure your fingers don't slip when you're in the midst of a hectic sequence.
Apart from featuring the standard 3.5mm audio jack, the Gold Shadow controller's buttons can also be remapped using the Xbox Accessories app. This will let you customise it in whatever way you like, depending on your play style or the type of game you're playing.
