Capcom has come under fire for the high cost of Street Fighter 6’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles DLC.
Each DLC costume costs 750 Fighter Coins, or roughly $15. As is the video game premium currency way, you can’t buy 750 Fighter Coins exactly. You need to buy 610 for $12, then an extra 250 for $5. If you want all four costumes (Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo), you’ll need 3,000 Fighter Coins. The cheapest way to buy that amount is to fork out $50 for 2,750 and $5 for 250.
Or, you can grind for Fighter Coins just by playing, but it will take you weeks, perhaps even months, to earn enough for these costumes.
It’s worth noting these Turtles costumes are just that. They are not new playable characters but avatar costumes for use in the single-player World Tour mode, lobbies, and in avatar battles, and notavailable in standard competitive multiplayer. The recently released brand new DLC character Rashid, which costs 350 Fighter Coins, is cheaper than a single Turtles costume.
While the $15 price tag for a Turtles costume is in-line with skins in other live service games, the Street Fighter 6 community has collectively hit out at Capcom for what they feel are overpriced pieces of DLC. Many are pointing out that the cost of the entire four DLC set is almost as much as Street Fighter 6 itself.
Yep!!!!! If you buy all 4 it’s 60Dollars the price of Street Fighter 6 itself I blame Nickelodeon for this pic.twitter.com/DvH5zdStnd
