Capcom's final Street Fighter 5 update has now arrived to its Champion Edition. Titled the «Definitive Update,» players can expect a plethora of content and cosmetic additions to Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition.
Launched in 2016, Street Fighter 5 initially met with lower reception than anticipated. Though gamers responded better to its follow-up versions, Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition and Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition. Now, with the announcement of Street Fighter 6, Capcom is looking to bring things to a close with Street Fighter 5 and focus its efforts on the upcoming title. As such, the company released its Definitive Update today for players, with sizable content accompanied by a whopping 79-page patch note.

As previously announced by Capcom, the Definitive Update for Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition includes a new battle balance update, cel-shading filter, pixel filter, and CAP-JAMS Remixes in-game among others. The pixel filter adds the classic arcade aesthetic to the game, offering players the nostalgic look and feel of the Street Fighter series. The cel-shading feature, on the other hand, splashes the gameplay with a deeper vibrancy that noticeably stylizes and enhances Street Fighter 5's visuals. Both cel-shading and pixel filters will only work during offline play. The final update also comes with five new songs from the Cap-Jams team.
According to the 79 pages of patch notes, each character has undergone changes to varying degrees where players could expect some noticeable changes to the gameplay.
