Goblin Slayer Season 2 Updates & News: What We Know So Far
Goblin Slayer season 2 has been officially confirmed, but when will the new season premiere, and what will its plot focus on? The anime series is based on Kumo Kagyu and Noboru Kannatsuki’s light novels of the same name. As of now, there are 15 volumes of the series released in Japan. The English translation is still trying to catch up, with Goblin Slayer Volume 14 being released on August 23rd, 2022 and the 15th volume still without a release date. Goblin Slayer is an anime series produced by White Fox that aired its first season internationally on Crunchyroll in 2018. It’s set in a dark fantasy world overrun with monsters in which people known as adventurers undertake monster-killing quests set by an organization called the Adventurer’s Guild in exchange for gold and glory.
The anime series Goblin Slayer season 1 introduced its titular protagonist known only as «Goblin Slayer» – a young man who witnessed his family murdered at the hands of a horde of goblins as a child and now dedicates his life to hunting down and killing as many goblins as he can. Goblin Slayer season 1 follows Goblin Slayer as he forms a motley crew with a human rookie adventurer named Priestess, a High Elf Archer, a Dwarf Shaman, and a Lizard Priest to take on a group of goblins led by an unnaturally intelligent leader known as the Goblin Lord. Goblin Slayer season 1 followed the events depicted in the first and second volumes of Kagyu and Kannatsuki’s series, and there's still plenty more source material to draw from.
