Susie Essman and Devon Sawa have been added to the growing list of stars set to make guest appearances on Hacks season 2. HBO Max's acclaimed comedy series premiered on May 13, 2021. Hacks follows the professional relationship between legendary Las Vegas stand-up comedian, Deborah Vance, and a young comedy writer as the former looks to freshen up her act. Hacks season 1 received high praise, in particular for Jean Smart's leading performance as Vance, and went on to earn recognition throughout award season, claiming Emmy and Golden Globe Award wins, among others. Hacks season 2 was confirmed back in June 2021, and recent first-look images show Deborah and Ava embarking on a cross-country tour.
Variety now confirms that Essman and Sawa have been revealed to guest star in Hacks season 2. The announcement came from the show's creative team at PaleyFest, though additional details about the stars' roles are being kept under wraps. Essman is best known for her role as Susie Greene on HBO's long-running comedy series, Curb Your Enthusiasm, while Sawa starred in the first Final Destination film and more recently had a recurring role on the Chucky television reboot.
