A new BTS video from Stranger Things season 4 shows what Murray's heroic Demogorgon fight looked like before CGI. Having surpassed a number of streaming milestones for Netflix, Stranger Things season 4's explosive release saw the long-awaited continuation of Eleven and the gang's story, as they came up against their biggest threat yet, the terrifying Vecna. The season saw its principle cast return to fight for their hometown of Hawkins once again, alongside a variety of new faces, including the instantly popular Eddie Munson portrayed by Joseph Quinn.
Stranger Things season 4 was split across a handful of different locations, with one of these storylines focusing on Joyce Byers and Murray Bauman as they attempted to rescue Hopper from imprisonment in Russia. Having been introduced in season 2, Murray, who is portrayed in the series by Brett Gelman, has since become a particular recurring favorite for his eccentric personality and comedic timing. After a number of bumps in the road, the duo's efforts to save Hopper culminated in an epic final battle in episode 9 which saw the group take on a hoard of demodogs and demogorgons, with Murray ultimately saving the day with the help of a flame thrower.

A newly released video now reveals how this scene was created, but showing two side-by-side clips of both the final cut and its BTS look. Shared by the official Stranger Things Twitter account, the BTS portion shows an actor in a green-screen suit, who crawls along the floor as the stand-in for a demogorgon who, in the final cut, writhes in pain as it's engulfed by flames.
