Despite being surrounded by water, fresh drinking water in is harder to come by than you might think. Still, keeping Thirst levels up is necessary if you want to thrive on your new deserted island. In order to survive and keep themselves healthy in , you will want to replenish their Thirst meter whenever it is about to reach critical levels.
When starting out, the only place you can find fresh water in will be from coconuts. However, as you progress through their survival adventure and gain more skills, they will be able to craft a flask that can be used whenever you want. You will also be able to craft items that store water every time it begins to rain on the island.
You have the ability to check your Thirst level in by pressing Triangle (PS4), Y (Xbox), or F (PC).

The Thirst meter in drains the quickest, which can be intimidating when first starting out in . At the start of the game, coconuts will be the quickest way to get drinking water. After hacking at the coconut with a tool, a few hits will turn it into a "Drinking Coconut", which restores one bar of Thirst.
Coconuts can be grabbed straight from the trees you discover on the island, but sometimes you may need to climb a bit to reach them!
Coconuts are plentiful and don’t spoil, making them good for stockpiling. However, drinking too many coconuts can make you sick and cause dehydration, which can become incredibly dangerous. Some islands will also spawn Quwawa berries, which also refill Thirst. Keep in mind that these berries spoil quickly, but you can plant them to grow more in, unlike coconuts.
