The latest leak around the iPhone 14 will sadden Apple fans. According to reports, the iPhone 14 Pro model is not likely to get a storage boost as earlier predicted and is speculated to start at 128GB, just like the iPhone 13. This information is particularly concerning given that the latest round of leaks have also revealed that the iPhone 14 Pro models might see a price hike of 15 percent. It all began when Taiwanese research firm TrendForce predicted in June that the iPhone 14 Pro models could start with a 256GB storage. A couple of days ago popular Apple tipster Ming-Chi Kuo said in a tweet that the iPhone 14 Pro could see a 15 percent price hike. However, the trade-off seemed fair then since consumers were also getting a higher storage for the increased price. However, today, Haitong International analyst Jeff Pu has claimed that the iPhone 14 Pro is likely to start with 128GB storage, just like the iPhone 13 Pro.
According to a MacRumors report, Pu earlier believed that a 256GB starting storage for the iPhone 14 Pro models was a possibility, however, in his latest research notes, he has included the 128GB storage variant as well. He said, “Based on our recent supply chain survey, we maintain our iPhone 14 build plan to be 91m in 2H22, vs. iPhone 13's 84m in 2H21, as there is no significant issue on the supply chain. The next to watch will be iPhone 14's pricing and the wait-time when it hits the market. Spec-wise, we add 128GB storage to the Pro line-up”.
