Hundreds of other fans voted to send their Chocolate Labs screenshot to the front page of the largest Starfield community on Reddit, indicating that the knowledge of dogs' extinction in this world has still eluded some players.
The thread thus gave rise to yet another popular discussion about this aspect of Starfield's lore, which saw a number of fans argue that the game's lack of dogs doesn't make sense. Those opinions largely come down to the belief that people wouldn't be willing to leave their pets behind.
