Star Wars Dark Forces Remaster is going to be released on February 28th for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC. The confirmation came from Nightdive Studios, who originally announced the remaster back in August. If you missed it you can watch the reveal trailer below.
The story outline for Star Wars Dark Forces Remaster says, “In the first Star Wars FPS video game, players assume the role of Kyle Katarn, a defector of the Galactic Empire turned mercenary for hire. Katarn joins the Rebel Alliance’s covert operations division tasked with infiltrating the Galactic Empire, where he discovers the secret Dark Trooper Project. The development of this powerful new series of Imperial battle droids and power-armored stormtroopers stands to strengthen the Empire’s grip on the galaxy unless Katarn and the Rebel Alliance intervene.”
Star Wars Dark Forces was released in 1995, and was an evolution for first person shooters with players able to look up and down. The remaster will be able to run at 120 fps and 4K resolution. There will also be updated lighting and effects for the game too across all 14 of the original levels. If you are playing on PC this minimum and recommended specs are as follows.
