Tom Holland has confirmed the filming date for .
During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Holland shared an exciting Spider-Man 4 date, including when he plans to start shooting the Marvel movie.
“It’s happening,” said Holland when asked if Spider-Man 4 is happening. “Next summer, we start shooting. Everything’s good to go. We’re nearly there. Super exciting. I can’t wait.”
On the Rich Roll podcast, Holland mentioned how he and Zendaya, who stars as MJ, have begun reading scripts for Spider-Man 4.
“It needs work, but the writers are doing a great job,” said Holland of Spider-Man 4’s script. “I read it 3 weeks ago, and it really lit a fire in me. Zendaya and I sat down, read it together, and we at times were bouncing around the living room.”
In September, Destin Daniel Cretton was in negotiations to direct Spider-Man 4, taking over for Jon Watts, who helmed the previous three Holland-led superhero entries. Cretton is best known for directing Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Cretton was tapped to direct Avengers: The Kang Dynasty but exited the project shortly before Jonathan Majors’ firing from Marvel.
The Spider-Man 4 summer start date allows Holland to work on Christopher Nolan’s next film. Holland will star alongside Matt Damon in Nolan’s follow-up to Oppenheimer, which is expected to shoot in early 2025.
Holland has played Peter Parker/Spider-Man since 2016, when he debuted in Captain America: Civil War. Holland has starred in three Spider-Man films: 2017’s Homecoming, 2019’s Far From Home, and 2021’s No Way Home. In between Homecoming and Far From Home, Holland appeared in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
