Enemies are a constant hazard in the video games world and facing them can generate very different feelings. While certain gameplay features can make fighting foes a joy, they can cause a lot of stress in rogue-like titles. This is because in cases like Spelunky 2, you only have so much health which can be very difficult to restore.

The enemies you encounter in the caverns alternate from relatively harmless to extremely aggressive and even the smallest hit can send you flying. To make things worse, more powerful opponents have appeared this time around such as Quillback, who will always be awaiting your challenge.
While the first Spelunky did have some boss encounters, Spelunky 2 expanded on that concept significantly. Not only are there multiple giant bosses, but there are special enemies that are strong enough to serve as elites. Quillback is one of these elites, the one who protects the exits leading into world two.
Quillback is the leader of the Cavemen, standing tall and wide with his trademark porcupine pelt across his back. No matter what you do, you will always encounter Quillback in the final area of the Dwelling. He wanders about his personal arena which is positioned in the middle of the level. It’s an open space with several ladders leading down into it and walls surrounding on all sides.
Unfortunately, there’s no consistently reliable way to avoid him. You can use Quillback’s reckless behavior to make your escape, but it’ll be worth your while to defeat him. Upon death, he’ll drop a Bomb Bag and Cooked Turkey.
