Actor Danny DeVito tricked Arnold Schwarzenegger into getting high while filming the 1994 Ivan Reitman comedy Junior, Schwarzenegger recently revealed. Throughout his extensive acting career, Schwarzenegger is most well known for his action movie roles, which helped push the genre into new territory in the mid-1980s and early 1990s. It’s arguable that Schwarzenegger’s action star status reached its peak with the 1992 James Cameron blockbuster Terminator 2: Judgement Day, but his ability to entertain audiences has never diminished, regardless of genre.
While he may have already been a worldwide action star, as the 90s progressed, it became clear that Schwarzenegger was interested in pushing his career beyond his usual fare. He began to take roles that few would have expected him to, experimenting more with comedy in particular. This interest in the comedic genre was undoubtedly encouraged by the success Schwarzenegger had previously found with 1988’s Twins, in which he starred opposite DeVito in a story about two fraternal twin brothers separated at birth. The film was such a hit that even today fans continue to await a long-rumored sequel, reportedly starring Schwarzenegger, DeVito, and Tracy Morgan.

Trying to recreate the success they had working together on Twins, DeVito and Schwarzenegger reunited in 1994 alongside director Ivan Reitman for Junior. The film told the story of a scientist (Schwarzenegger) who agrees to take on an experimental treatment in which he’s impregnated.
