Fans of Disney+’s upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi show are mistaking the Grand Inquisitor for the Legends character Darth Malak, and their confusion highlights a problem with the character. Bringing characters from video games, animated shows, and books into the live-action space is exciting, and with the highly anticipated trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi having just been released, connections and theories are beginning to emerge about what might be seen when the show premieres on May 25, 2022. Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Inquisitor villain comparison to Malak is particularly well-timed considering the video game is currently being remade for the PlayStation 5 and images of the Darth are fresh in the minds of Star Wars fans.
