David Hayter — who wrote the first film and is the voice actor of the iconic video game character Solid Snake in the series — has been brought on to write the TV adaptation of .
According to a recent report from The Hollywood Reporter, Hayter will write the series in partnership with Abandon Entertainment. The news comes after Ted Field’s Radar Pictures acquired the rights to adapt the game series. The adaptation will reportedly be a drama series that will aim to tell the story of the games to a larger audience.
As of this moment, no broadcast or streaming company has stepped forward to acquire the project, so there’s very little news regarding the release or even what the show will focus on. Originally designed by American James McGee, the games were based on the Lewis Carroll novels and, and told a more dark and horror-themed version of the iconic stories.

Although Hayter is perhaps best known among fans for his voice acting work in the legendary Metal Gear series, he has been behind some big Hollywood projects. Hayter wrote the original film in 2000, and also co-wrote 2003’s. Hayter also has writing credits on 2002’s, as well as 2009’s highly praised film.
