Sony is shutting down PixelOpus, the studio announced on its Twitter account Friday.
"Dear friends, our PixelOpus adventure has come to an end," the studio said. "As we look to new futures, we wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to the millions of passionate players who have supported us, and our mission to make beautiful, imaginative games with heart."
The San Mateo-based PixelOpus arrived on the scene at E3 2014, with the surprise announcement and release of its first game, Entwined for the PS4.
The studio's second and final game was 2019's Concrete Genie, about a bullied young boy who discovers the ability to bring his paintings to life. The game was nominated for two DICE Awards and two BAFTAs.
"PlayStation Studios regularly evaluates its portfolio and the status of studio projects to ensure they meet the organization's short and long-term strategic objectives," a PlayStation representative told IGN.
"As part of a recent review process, it has been decided that PixelOpus will close on June 2."
