Sony is said to have launched an internal investigation into the leaked documents about the rumored PS5 Pro model.
Last week, additional specs and details about Sony's rumored mid-gen hardware refresh surfaced - the PlayStation 5 Pro. As claimed by YouTuber 'Moore's Law is Dead', the leaked PS5 Pro document has revealed that the new PS5 model will sport a larger GPU with faster system memory. In addition, the console will offer substantially faster rendering than the current PS5. Also, the console is said to offer a significantly better ray tracing architecture.
Following this leak, known leaker Tom Henderson chimed in on the matter, stating that the leaked PS5 Pro specs are the real deal. He added that Sony is still targeting a holiday 2024 release for the powered-up PS5 console. Later on, outlet IGN also reported that the leaked specs were legit. Apparently, the leaked PS5 Pro document came from a third party, and according to Henderson, Sony has now launched an internal investigation into the matter.
"As expected, Sony has launched an internal investigation into the leaked documents on Trinity as it leaked during a third-party rollout", Henderson wrote on X. "Not sure on the implications yet as I don't think they can catch one individual, but Sony could reduce its third-party developer pool for new tech as a result."
It should be noted that this 'info' comes from Henderson, and Sony hasn't openly commented on the leaked specs of the rumored PS5 pro model. As a matter of fact, Sony hasn't even confirmed the existence of the model. On the other hand, if Sony is indeed investigating the matter, these specs are likely the real deal. It will be interesting to see how this matter will evolve. For the sake of completeness, we've included the additional details and specs, as leaked some days ago, down below:
