Sega’s Sonic X Shadow Generations received a release date and new trailer during Summer Game Fest, touting one of Shadow’s new powers. However, extensive gameplay was also released, highlighting familiar moments like the Biolizard boss fight from Sonic Adventure 2. Check it out below.
Alongside the new mechanics, the remastered version of “Supporting Me” that plays during the fight is top-tier. Of course, the gameplay of Shadow running through Space Colony Ark is also solid, but things go south when Doom’s Eye appears and drags him into an alternate reality. It’s a revamped version of Radical Highway, except with more surreal environments and traversal. Suffice it to say that its remastered track is also incredible.
Sonic X Shadow Generations launches on October 25th for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Those who pre-order can pick up the Sonic Adventure Legacy Skin, while the Digital Deluxe Edition provides three days of early access (sadly not on Switch). The latter also grants a Terios skin, a digital art book, a soundtrack, an extra BGM pack, and the Season Pass for one additional skin and level launching in Winter 2024.
