Sonic Frontiers may not have set the world on fire with its critical reception upon its release last year, but it has undeniably injected some much-needed freshness into the franchise. The open world platformer has been received well by series fans, in spite of its rough edges, and likewise, has continued to sell well.
In its recent quarterly fiscal report, Sega provided another update on the game’s sales, revealing that Sonic Frontiers has now sold over 3.2 million units worldwide across all platformers. A little over a month ago, it was announced that the game had surpassed 3 million units sold, so it’s continuing to sell at a fairly steady rate.
Back in February, Sega said Sonic Frontiers’ sales had surpassed its expectations, and that it was expecting the game will “continue to sell over the long term based on sales strategies such as pricing, promotions, and the development of further DLC.”
Sonic Frontiers received a free update last month that added a Photo Mode, Challenge Modes, and more. Plenty more content is also in the pipeline for the rest of 2023.
Sonic Frontiers is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Read our review of the game through here.
