Developed by Intercept Games in 2011, the first Kerbal Space Program is one of the best and most complex space-flight simulators ever released. It actually teaches the players real-world science, as its mechanics were based on real-life concepts such as gravity and aerodynamics, not solely on fake, gamified elements. Because of this, many of its players spent hundreds, if not thousands of hours cracking their heads to create rockets based on real-life physics, which helped the indie game sell over 5 million units worldwide. The hype for the second title was very high, and the fans of the franchise were eagerly awaiting an update to the formula.

Launched in Early Access on February 24, Kerbal Space Program 2 is far from the hit that the first game was by looking at the current comment section on Steam. It seems that the hype created by its predecessor backfired immensely, as many users are mad with the current performance of the title, which they expected to be one of the greatest simulation games ever. At the moment, current Steam reviews for the space-flight simulator are mixed, with only 50% of the over 9,000 users who bought it liking the content. Also, it’s not hard to find reviewers claiming that they will refund the game due to how disappointed they are with the situation.
