Jensen Ackles reveals how Soldier Boy is first introduced in The Boysseason 3. After a second season that only brought The Boys to new heights, Amazon's hit satirical superhero show is looking to go even bigger with season 3. Announced even before season 2 aired, the upcoming 8-episode run will premiere in June, as was recently revealed in a new trailer featuring Homelander and Starlight. Amazon has been careful not to reveal too much about The Boys season 3, though an ongoing web series known as «Seven on 7» has shared some intriguing teases about what lies ahead.
Beyond that, it has been confirmed that The Boys season 3 will introduce some exciting new characters. Pulling from the comics, the super-team Payback will be among the new supes making their onscreen debuts. This includes Ackles' Soldier Boy, one of Vought's original superheroes. Ackles' arrival on The Boys has been a long time coming, since he was cast around the same time season 3 was announced. In the comics, Soldier Boy is a naïve and overly patriotic hero who longs to join the Seven. However, The Boys is putting its own spin on him.

Ackles recently guested on the podcast Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum, and he revealed something exciting about his role on The Boys: Namely, he explained his introduction. Prompted by a conversation regarding the surprisingly full beard he'll be sporting in season 3, Ackles shared where viewers will first find Soldier Boy. He said:
