Animal Crossing's K.K. Slider is borderline becoming Ron Swanson from Parks & Recreation. Like the comedy series's local tough guy character, K.K. Slider has developed an alternate identity to explore his musical interests. However, unlike Ron's jazzy, saxophone-playing persona Duke Silver, K.K. Slider's second identity is involved in the club scene under the name DJ KK.
DJ KK joined the Animal Crossing series in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, in which he would play at Club LOL every day except Saturday. Players would find the musician wearing headphones and a cap eerily similar to K.K. Slider, the other white dog who visited the village to entertain music lovers. DJ KK returned to the series in Animal Crossing: New Horizons Happy Home Paradise DLC. Players can now serve DJ KK — and his original identity K.K. Slider — as the designer of the famous musician's vacation getaway.

However, it is not necessarily clear if K.K. Slider and DJ KK are the same dog. Unlike his Parks and Recreation comparison Ron Swanson, K.K. Slider is himself a famous musician and has little reason to use an alternate personality to explore different genres. After all, K.K. Slider's many albums in Animal Crossing explore music from all over the world, including the hip hop and house genres DJ KK specializes in. Specific details about DJ KK and K.K. Slider's backstory in Animal Crossing: New Horizonsmake it clear that the two dogs are the same, though, and they also make the comparison between DJ KK and Duke Silver even more apt.
