The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtleshave had some pretty out there toy designs through the years, and its latest comic issue, the series pays tribute to Raphael’s weirdest one. The Turtles are currently dealing with an all-new team of mutant villains that have invaded their territory, causing chaos and mayhem in their wake. While battling this team of troublemakers, one of the villains makes a clear reference to one of TMNT’s weirder toy designs, one which depicts Raphael as his own version of Frankenstein's Monster.
In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles#126 by Sophie Campbell and Pablo Tunica with story consulting from Kevin Eastman and Tom Waltz, the Turtles are gearing up for a rematch against the villainous team of mutants known as the Punk Frogs. The Punk Frogs have infiltrated Mutant Town as they believe one of the Turtles has kidnapped a friend of theirs.

The Turtles fought the Punk Frogs for the first time in the last issue and faced off with them again in this one. During the epic battle between the two teams of warriors, one of the Punk Frogs points out that Donatello’s shell is armored and artificial, calling him a Frankenstein due to his altered appearance. While the comment was geared towards Donatello, it immediately reminds fans of the other time TMNT was associated with Frankenstein in any capacity, that time being when Raphael became Frankenstein’s Monster in the form of a NECA figure.
