Marvel Cinematic Universe veteran Mark Ruffalo has shared his reaction to the Ms. Marvel trailer, welcoming the new superhero to the franchise. The trailer for the upcoming Disney+ series dropped on March 15, and has given fans a lot to talk about. In the latest look at the MCU series, the new Ms. Marvel trailer reveals that the hero's origin story will most likely be very different from the original source material, as will her newfound powers.
The show will focus on Kamala Khan, played by MCU newcomers Iman Vellani. Khan is a Muslim, Pakistani-American high schooler who lives in Jersey City. A dreamer who is obsessed with superheroes (Captain Marvel in particular) Khan comes across the opportunity to become one herself when she gains cosmic powers. Although this is everything she's ever wanted, the new Ms. Marvel still has to balance her life as both a hero and a teenager. The series will also star Saagar Shaikh as Kamala's older brother Amir, Matt Lintz as her friend Bruno Carrelli, and Aramis Knight as the vigilante Red Dagger. The Ms. Marvel series will be directed by a team consisting of a few different people, including Batgirl directors Bilall Fallah and Adil El Arbi, plus Meera Menon and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy.
