The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ new champion agastin an enemy they couldn’t hope to defeat alone was created long before the Ninja Turtles. The creators of TMNT, Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, didn’t start off their comic careers with the Turtles but instead with the story of the tragic robot Fugitoid who had his own cadre of villains including ones who have made a recent comeback in the current TMNTcontinuity. With that comeback comes the reintroduction of a character who is destined to become the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ only chance at survival.
In IDW Publishing’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles#126 by Sophie Campbell and Pablo Tunica with story consulting from Kevin Eastman and Tom Waltz, the Triceraton race are celebrating after their leader gave natural birth, something the Triceratons previously lost the ability to do. Since the Triceratons couldn’t reproduce, they were reliant on the Utroms for survival. However, with the birth of this Triceraton baby, the Triceratons aren’t as reliant on the Utroms, creating an imbalance of power and sparking a drastic act of violence.

The leader of the Utroms, Ch’rell, launches a full assault against the Triceraton leader and her daughter, Seri. During the attack, Seri’s mother is hit with a direct blast to the chest, leading fans to believe that she was either killed immediately or is on the verge of death. Before Ch’rell attacked the Triceratons, Seri was being brought to an accelerated growth pod in order to age her faster to ensure that she could protect herself during these dangerous times. While they didn’t make it to the aging pods, Seri will assuredly be aged-up by the next issue setting her up
