Winter Soldier Destroyed Punisher With Two Brutal Insults
While the Punisherand the Winter Soldier (aka Bucky Barnes)are two of the most skilled soldiers in the Marvel Universe, the Winter Soldier proved his superiority by destroying the Punisher with just two brutal sentences. No literal shots had to be fired for Winter Soldier to win this victory, though shots were absolutely fired verbally speaking, and when they were, the Punisher didn’t know what hit him.
In Original Sin#4 by Jason Aaron and Mike Deodato a number of Marvel’s heroes are pitted against each other after Uatu the Watcher was assassinated and multiple groups are trying to figure out who did it. During these intersecting investigations, the vigilantes who have signed up for the mission are forced to engage in brutal standoffs, including the Winter Soldier and the Punisher. While most of the conflicts are physically violent, the one between the Punisher and the Winter Soldier is emotionally so, as the Winter Soldier took things way too far in regards to the Punisher’s deceased family.

In a Reddit thread started by user HectorDBotyInspect0r, fans commented on how unnecessarily savage the Winter Soldier was to the Punisher in this issue. In Original Sin#4, the Punisher is threatening the Winter Soldier at gunpoint, telling him how he never liked him and that he better get on his knees or the Punisher will shoot. In response, the Winter Soldier says, “I’m not some corner dope pusher, Frank. And I’m not afraid of a man who can’t protect his own children.” Despite his name, the Winter Soldier had no chill in this issue and fans took notice.
