Dataminers have found references to the Mii legend, Matt, within Nintendo Switch Sports.
If you've played Wii Sports (and who are we kidding, of course you've played Wii Sports) you might remember some of the game's default Miis. These Miis were included to make sure that the player always had a few different people to play with, but over time they started to become icons of the game. Matt was particularly well-known for being the most difficult Mii to go up against.

Thanks to a recent online network test, dataminers have dived into Nintendo Switch Sports' files. The most notable thing that has been uncovered so far is that Matt has been spotted within the game's roster of bots, alongside the rest of the Miis from Mii Party. Considering the game doesn't even seem to have Miis at the moment, it's a surprising inclusion.
This was discovered by OatmealDome, who said, "The legend himself, Matt, may return in Switch Sports. However, I have only found his name. There is no file which describes how his Sportsmate avatar looks. (While there are 100 CPU bot names, Nintendo seems to have made only 20 Sportsmates as of now.)"
OatmealDome gave a possible explanation as to why Matt appears in the game's files, "Interestingly, the list of bot names seems to have been imported directly from Wii Party. Every name on the list in Switch Sports matches a Mii found in Wii Party, which also has exactly 100 Miis." Another Twitter user was quick to point out that the trailer also included names from the Miis found in Wii Party's beginner difficulty games.
